Earlier this week we broke every existing record for ‘Largest Rubik’s Cube Mosaic Ever Created’ by using 85,794 Rubik’s Cubes to recreate the skyline of Macau, China. We have been working hard over the past few months with international teams to conceptualize, design and twist each of the 85,794 Rubik’s Cubes into this monumental work of art. Amazingly, the finished mural towers over 13 feet high and stretches over 200 feet wide. The mural was unveiled last week on the Macau waterfront, just outside Hong Kong and Guinness World Records was on hand to confirm the record breaking achievement as well as to photograph and film the mural for their annual publication. The mural is currently on display for visitors to enjoy on the Macau waterfront until late January where it will be taken to its permanent home which has yet to be announced.
Here is a fun time-lapse video featuring the mural’s assembly: Macau Mural Time-Lapse: World’s Largest Rubik’s Cube Mosaic
We are very excited about this project and eager to spread the word for others to be able to marvel and enjoy this one-of-a-kind work of art. We would like to invite any questions you might have regarding this monumental attraction. Also, we would be more than happy to share images and information around the project since it is the first of its kind ever created using Rubik’s cubes!
